How they believe the first living thing they see is their mother?
Perry knows that isn’t true. He doesn’t remember much (he was very young at the time), but the first person he ever saw was Carl.
And the first thing he ever heard was “Carl! Why are you standing there! I’m supposed to be the first person newborn Agents see!”

Following up on my last post in this series, here I analyze the academic lives of the high school and college kids in the B plot. I was going to do all the teens, but I finished these three before completing the others and decided it was better to share this progress than hoard the results until that portion could be completed.
(I apologize in advance for speaking at great length about Vanessa Doofenshmirtz.)

The Daily Doof’s recent tweet reminded me of a headcanon that has been floating around in my head for some time. I haven’t done the calculations to see if this is mathematically plausible, but even if it isn’t the idea is cute.
One day Perry shows up at DEI a bit earlier than usual to find Heinz decorating the lab with streamers and balloons, a table set for tea and pastries, music playing in the background- the whole nine yards. This startles Perry because he knows it isn’t his birthday, and that Heinz doesn’t celebrate his own birthday in this manner anymore, and their nemeversary had only just happened last month (hadn’t it?). The monotreme is stumped and can’t figure out what event or date he’s forgotten this time.
This is when Heinz notices Perry, and starts to get nervous. “Perry the Platypus, I wasn’t expecting you! And by “wasn’t expecting you” I mean “actually expecting you, but not quite so early!’”

This is just as relevant now as it was in I, Brobot.
(Slight TW for brief mention of Doofenshmirtz-esque child abuse in the second theory. Nothing graphic at all, I think this is safe for everyone to read. I just want to avoid any unexpected Doof sadness)

I don’t think it has. When we reach that, we should have some sort of party/celebration for the group birthday/anniversary/whatever we call this.
Hello all! I can’t find the time to do a proper recap for this episode, so I figured a few brief points is better than nothing. Still long, mind, but shorter than usual. I might try to make them all shorter from now on, especially if this is easier to read.
As usual, I focus on the positive! But I do bring up an issue I had with the A plot. Still, mostly love for this episode!

I like to toy with the idea of Stephen slowly becoming one of Heinz’s close friends.
Perhaps Perry didn’t want that to happen at first. A part of him thought about it, but another part was, perhaps, almost worried about getting jealous of the way Heinz treated Stephen. He wants Heinz to be close to him, Perry the Platypus, foremost- even if it is “unprofessional.” He wants to think his and Heinz’s friendship is something special and not something Heinz would have with any sentient platypus. Perry really doesn’t want to set Heinz up for failure in this regard.

a psa: if someone is in a chat and theyve asked you to stop talking about something on the grounds it really upsets/triggers them, its good to stop talking about that
just a friendly little note!!
you can make jokes about stuff that dont consist purely of hahah smoke drug weed haha booze
you dont really need to mention rape at all in any kind of joking context
thank
The one time I stopped by everything was fine, but I agree. If rape jokes are ~a thing that happen sometimes~ I can guarantee 100% I can’t be there ever at all.

This Platypus Eve Action Thriller was such a wonderful addition to canon . This show makes me so happy.
Once again, this is a bit long. I’ll stop talking about societal context when the creators stop putting societal context in the show.

In “Oil on Candace” earlier today, and I had never realized just how hilarious Perry’s choice in Soap Opera OTP’s is.
Man: I love you, my darling.
Woman: No, I love you much more than you love me!
Man: I hate you!
(Passionate kiss)
And then when Perry flips back to the channel
Woman: I love you!
Man (visibly angry): I THOUGHT YOU HATED ME!
[I’m assuming more passionate kissing, Monogram cuts us off]
And Perry is so emotionally invested, he is sobbing and curling up and so devastatingly, genuinely engaged with the story and their romance, and it is too precious.
Primal Perry
I’m flipping out
I… I can’t believe that episode happened
And I’m a boomerang

I’m trying to finish my recap of Sidetracked before Primal Perry airs, and while typing I had a thought that I felt warranted it’s own post.

For being an episode that fell squarely in the “Hey, That’s Bizarre!” category, “Der Kinderlumper” actually had a lot going on, both textually and metaphorically. This episode also gave us lots of new canon to work with, and filled in a few cracks. This episode wasn’t as solid as other recent additions, but I still have plenty of positive things to focus on!
This episode also touched on a subject I’m a bit passionate about, so included is a link to where I talk about the song specifically. For being an “average” S4 episode, this one inspired a lot of writing!
